Early Learning
Your child's day will be carefully planned and all activities are prepared appropriate to each age group. Your child will move children through the nursery when ready to do so and they will only progress when this has been discussed with you and you are happy with this decision.
We follow the Birth to Three Matters Framework and Foundation Stage education programmes to ensure your child receives the best possible start to their learning in a stimulating and encouraging setting. Birth to Three Matters is a framework which helps develop babies and toddlers. It recognises that all 0-3 year olds have a need to develop and learn through interaction with people and exploration of the world around them. Birth to Three Matters is divided into four 'Aspects' which focus the skill and competence of babies and young children and highlights the interrelationship between growth, learning, development and the environment in which they are cared for and educated.
This is how the Birth to Three Framework is divided
Foundation Stage
Foundation Stage 3-5 sets out six learning areas which are:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
Each of these areas has a set of stepping stones that progress towards early learning goals, for which each of the Base Room seniors coordinate planned activities to help meet the needs of each child, so that they are well prepared for when they start school. Learning is encouraged through play and includes activities to involve each area
A Key Worker will be dedicated to your child to encourage, support and develop their skills and ensure that records of development are kept and individual needs are met for you and your child!
We encourage parents to build relationships with all staff who are caring for your child as it not only makes it easier when covering for holidays, sickness and training days, but more importantly, will help to ensure that there is always a familiar face for you and your child.
