Recruitment and Selection

The right people, in the right place.

Spending time recruiting the perfect people for our nurseries is a role we take seriously. We have a dedicated 'Early Years Recruiter' who works alongside the nurseries, shortlisting and pre-screening candidates for roles within the sites.

We have a robust 'Safer Recruitment Policy' to ensure that all new employees are screened through DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and are suitable candidates to work with children. During the first three months of employment, all new staff complete their induction, which ensures that once their probation period is completed, they have full knowledge of the standards and expectations within their role.

We strive for excellence.

The staff within our nurseries hold both Level 2 and 3 qualifications which cover the ‘Early Years’, we also pride ourselves in our degree led settings with staff who have completed their level 6 qualification as well as having qualified Early Years Teachers in some of the nurseries.

We are proud to offer staff the opportunity to train with us and have a very successful apprenticeship programme, which enables us to ‘grow our own’, these staff not only gain a level 2 or 3 qualification with us, but then have the chance to progress and be promoted within their nursery.

Training and Development

New skills, new opportunities.

We have a dedicated Training Manager who works across the nurseries training and supporting all the staff. Their role is to ensure that the staff have completed their statutory training requirements but will also work specifically with the nurseries to develop and deliver courses bespoke for each site.

Staff have lots of opportunities to upskill with training, based on their interests as well as statutory requirements, ensuring the children in the nurseries are offered up to date and relevant education delivered by trained staff.

Staff also have the chance to complete other Level 3 courses including Team Leadership , Management and Forest School Leader, dependent upon their passions and promotions whilst with us.

Key Person

A personal connection.

Within our nurseries, each child is allocated a ‘Key Person’, this member of staff is the main care giver for the child as well as being the main point of contact for the families. The role of the Key Person is to create a bond with the child to ensure they feel safe and confident whilst at nursery, and giving them the best opportunity to thrive whilst in our care.

The Key Person will be there at the beginning and end of the day to talk to the families about the child’s day and to give feedback on the successes the child has achieved each day. We also operate a ‘Buddy’ system for the Key Person to ensure there is always a contact for the families and their child in the case that their Key Person is unavailable.
